O ciclo de concertos do Projecto Ensaio Público arranca no próximo dia 3 de Março de 2007 com a actuação de Samuel Quinto Trio. Concerto agendado para as 22 horas, no Pavilhão 3 do Museu da Bienal de Vila Nova de Cerveira.
O evento organizado pelo Projecto Ensaio Público, conta com o apoio da Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Cerveira e pelo Núcleo para o Desenvolvimento Cultural "Projecto" da Bienal de Vila Nova de Cerveira.
O trio de jazz latino, conta na sua formação com três brazileiros, ambos com formação na área do jazz. O trio juntou-se recentemente em Portugal para formar o projecto liderado por Samuel Quinto (Pianista). O projecto é constituido ainda por um baixista e um baterista.
TWO WORDS ABOUT SAMUEL QUINTO
Samuel Quinto is a pianist with greats expressives resources, therefore he unites the improvisation capacity - that coming of the free-jazz´s practice - to the memory of Brazilian and Latin American popular music in general, that gives to him to make an use of the piano as an instrument with double function to emphasize and to amplify melodies and voices and over all to support or even to base the rhythm, the cadence of the phrases, sometimes as if he incorporated the percussion.
While a productor of the Brazilian singer-composer of the MPB Vanessa Pinheiro, in Portugal, I could follow the participation of Quinto in Coimbra (at Teatro Académico de Gil Vicente, it belongs to Coimbra´s University) and in Viseu.
At this concert in Coimbra, where only the pianist makes a duo with the singer, I just watched great solos, just fascinating, for the emotion that crossed the room, with 400 spectators. In the memory, continues those beautiful cadences, following a song of Andalusian tone, and an interpretation - piano solo - of a famous and melodic song(Luíza - Tom Jobim). That concert was just unforgettable for all of us.
After this, I watched some concerts of his project "Latin Jazz Thrill" and I can affirm that Samuel Quinto dedicate seriously in any occasion, at the same time also he enjoys of the pleasure that he can provide.
